LIME.
Cut a large lime into 8 wedges. Place 4 lime
wedges in rocks glass. Feel free to experiment
with your favorite fruits. Just add the fruit to
the recipe and cut the amount of limes in half.
|
SWEETEN.
Add 2 tablespoons of superfine sugar or 1
ounce of simple syrup. Using other types of
sugars or sweeteners will work well. You can
even use a sugar substitute for a lower calorie
Caipirinha.
|
MUDDLE.
Mash lime and sugar into a juicy slurry with a
muddler for 15 seconds. Muddling well is the
key to releasing all of the fruit’s flavor and fully
mixing the sugar with the fruit.
|
ICE.
Fill the rocks glass with ice. For best results,
use crushed ice. Crushed ice will slightly melt
in the mixing process which helps to blend all
the flavors.
|
LEBLON.
Add 2 ounces of Leblon Cachaça.
|
SHAKE.
Place a shaker securely over rocks glass. Shake
well for 5 to 10 seconds. Shaking with the
shaker on the bottom ensures the liquid stays in
the container. Stirring is an alternative method
of mixing.
|
SERVE.
Pour all the contents of the shaker into a rocks
glass. Add ice as needed. Garnish with a fresh
lime.

KA-SHA-SA
what is cachaça?
Cachaça, the national spirit of Brazil and third most consumed spirit in the world, is the
key ingredient of the Caipirinha. A cousin of rum, Cachaça comes only from Brazil, and is
made from 100% fresh cane juice (unlike rum, which is made from molasses).

KAI-PUR-EEN-YA
what is a caipirinha?
The Caipirinha is the national cocktail from Brazil. Made from fresh lime, muddled with
natural sugar, and mixed with Cachaça and ice, the Caipirinha is a cultural classic. The
classic Caipirinha is made with fresh lime. Or, make a Fresh Fruit Caipirinha with your
favorite in-season fresh fruit, such as pineapple, raspberries, watermelon, or tangerines.
Add herbs such as mint, cilantro, or basil for a unique twist. Or a dash of red pepper...

LE-BLON
what is leblon cachaça?
Unlike most Cachaças, which are made from crude industrial processes, Leblon is an
Artisanal Cachaça, made in small batch Alambique copper pot stills. Distilled in the heart
of Minas Gerais, Brazil, then lightly aged in Cognac casks, Leblon has a fresh fruity nose
with an ultra smooth finish. Leblon was awarded the ‘Top Cachaça’ in the World Spirits
Competition, and ‘Best in Class’ at the London Rum Experience.

AL-TER-NA-TIVES
don’t want to muddle?
Instead of muddling, use 2 parts Leblon to 1 part fresh lime juice and 1 part simple syrup. If
you want to use a prepared lime-based mix, use 2 parts of Leblon to 2 parts of the mix.
sweet alternatives?
Superfine sugar dissolves faster in a cold caipirinha than regular sugar. Or use simple syrup:
boil 2 parts sugar to one part water. 1 ounce of simple syrup will then equal 2 tablespoons
of sugar. Or make a ‘Skinny Caipirinha’ with Splenda or Equal.
serving for seventy?
Use Pitchers or Punch Bowls. Use 2 parts Leblon, 1 part fresh lime juice, and 1 part simple
syrup. For a 32oz Pitcher, add 16 ounces of Leblon, 8 ounces of fresh lime juice, and 8
ounces of simple syrup. Fill pitchers to the top with ice, mix, and serve with lime slices in
each glass.
want more liquid?
Some like more liquid in the cocktails, especially with food. Alternatively, use a tall glass
instead of a rocks glass. Prepare as a normal Caipirinha, fill glass with ice, and top with
club soda.
what else can i do?
Leblon Cachaça tastes great chilled neat or on-the-rocks with a slice of lime. Enjoy with
tonic or lemon-lime soda. Adds a Brazilian twist to a Margarita, Martini, or Mojito. A
definitive favorite among bar chefs, Leblon plays exceptionally well with fresh fruit and
purees.
